Event Management

Sedition DJs has widespread experience and expertise in managing and promoting events in London; in fact, we started out as club promoters. We launched our first event Movin’ House in 2001, which hosted parties at several of the city’s cooler small venues before hosting the second room at Turnmills at nights like City Loud.

From Movin’ House we graduated to Going Places, which ran for five years as part of The Gallery at Turnmills and the Ministry of Sound, and then with Satellite 31 at Egg. Going Places – ‘Adventures in International House Music’ – specialised in bringing the best new producers from around the world over for their London debut. Tony Senghore, Tiger Stripes, Erick E, Aldrin, Livio, Muzzaik and Chopstick are among those who played to a UK crowd for the first time at Going Places.

As well as Going Places, Sedition DJs also worked alongside several other events at Turnmills, including Together and Roger Sanchez’s Release Yourself, and was invited to host rooms at other London venues like The End, AKA and Plan B. Around the same time we co-promoted the legendary At Night warehouse parties, which are still talked about today and represented underground clubbing at its very best. Tim Sheridan, DJ Paulette and Deepgroove are among those who joined the party.

By 2006 Sedition DJs had been established, and we co-promoted a series of major club nights across London. UP^^ took Turnmills by storm with the best in quality house music from special guests like the Shapeshifters, Seamus Haji, Norman Jay, Robert Owens and StoneBridge. ISSST NYE 2006 was another major event Sedition DJs were involved with, and this sell-out warehouse party featured Tiefschwarz, Simian Mobile Disco and a Klaxons DJ set. Subsequent ISSST and SLAANG parties brought together some of the finest names in electronic music, including Kissy Sell Out, Jesse Rose, Black Strobe, Trevor Jackson, Fuckpony and the Mystery Jets.

Reflecting our passion for techno, we co-founded Closer in 2007, which invited some of the scene’s key figures to play in more intimate surroundings; Kevin Saunderson, Luke Slater, James Ruskin, Ben Sims and Speedy J are among those who took part. Modernism, meanwhile, took place at Turnmills the same year with a superb line-up, including Stacey Pullen, Blake Baxter, Giles Smith, Silicone Soul and Sasse from Moodmusic Records.

As well as promoting our own events, Sedition DJs has been involved in many other projects. In 2006 we organized a club tour for the Bargrooves compilation series in association with Galaxy FM across Northern England. We received special praise from Galaxy FM for our efforts, while in 2008 we co-promoted an album launch party for Mike Monday and San Francisco's Om Records. Taking place at Corsica Studios, the line-up included Paul Woolford, Charles Webster and Jimpster. In 2009 we coordinated the booking of Sven Väth for the kaZantip festival in Ukraine.

Sedition DJs helped to coordinate the line-ups for the Lost in London international student parties taking place at several major venues across London, including Pacha, Cable, the Coronet and the Ministry of Sound. We also organised the launch party for the Kopparberg cider marketing campaign featuring the band Clock Opera.

With this wealth of experience behind us, Sedition DJs is ideally placed to help with the programming, management and promotion of any event. We can assist with everything from initial planning and artist bookings through to coordination on the night, as well as hosting our own space as part of a major event. In particular, we specialise in music programming, and providing a well-structured and exciting musical strategy throughout the night. We are also experienced in organising corporate events.
